Cascades at Coo

It's spring!  I'm so happy it's March.  February is my least favorite month of the year.  Today Ben had to work until 2:00, so I dropped him off in order to have the car.  After the kids finished their chores, I drove them to the toy store to spend some of their allowance money.  We got back in the car to go get Ben from work.  He suggested we go take a look at a waterfall south of our house.

The car ride was quite long for the kids (we had gone north to get Ben from work), but the drive was well worth it!  We had an amazing time looking at the waterfall.  There was tons of tourist stuff around, but it was still closed.  It was a balmy 57 degrees, which we were thrilled about.  We weren't the only people out enjoying the sunny afternoon.

We started out by walking partly across the bridge that crosses the falls.  There is a stairway down between the two waterfalls.

On the way home, we passed this war memorial and had to stop to look.
This village was in the territory covered by the Battle of the Bulge.

We all had a great time!  Luckily, the drive home wasn't too long.  We stopped and bought pain au chocolats and croissants.  As I opened and closed the gate at home, I smelled the beautiful flowers growing in our yard.  The crocuses sprouting by the garage are especially welcome.  My mom always plants crocuses, and their blossoms are the greatest herald of spring for me.
